Let's begin with the Secret of the Scroll...
I was watching the movie… Kungfu Panda
I was captivated by the characters, but what especially intrigued me, and I was in awe… was the secret of the scroll.
Po is given the Dragon Scroll – and was told that it contains the secret to unlimited power. But when he opens it, he finds the scroll is blank. This moment is pivotal in Po's journey and the arc is complete when he realises that there is no mystical secret to success.
The film uses its characters to symbolize different types of underestimated individuals. Po represents those who are often judged by their appearance—specifically, individuals who might be considered overweight and Mantis and Master Shifu represent the vertically challenged people who are again, underestimated because of their size.
Similarly, Viper and Crane represent the differently-abled people, demonstrating that true strength isn't solely reliant on having all physical abilities functioning perfectly.
The movie conveys a powerful message: physical power comes from within and is fuelled by immense willpower, rather than external attributes.
The term “Kung Fu” " it combines two characters: the first, Kung, means skilful work, hard training, or endeavour and the second, Fu, means time spent. Together, they represent the value of dedicated effort and time spent at skilful work, endeavour or hard working.
So, if it is the hard work and training, then what does the secret scroll signify?
The emptiness defines, zero or infinite, the apparent “emptiness” actually defines as “fullness” i.e., there is no self, or the self is all here. There is no shortcut to greatness.
The Dragon scroll definitely has no kind of magic attached to it at all, but it teaches us that the secret needed to achieve great things is nothing but just believing in oneself that you can get through it, and committing to consistent, perfect effort, in order with confidence and belief.
This revelation symbolizes a key theme that true strength and potential come from within, rather than from external sources or magical artefacts. Each person has the innate ability to define their own destiny through confidence and hard work, what truly makes a person from zero to hero.
We all have the magic talent within us, just have to believe in ourselves and not rely on any magic tricks or secret mantra.
So friends, apparently what it looks like an animated film filled with humour and entertainment, its core message is profound with funny characters and entertainment, it actually sends a message to all of us, that we have an in-built power-house, within each of us.
Whatever adversity comes to our life or whatever challenges we face, need to stand up and show the courage and power to face it. It’s all within us; no external power can change or take us to the destiny.
There is no secret scroll in life; only thing is time and effort. Embrace setbacks as opportunities to come back stronger and fight even harder.
So friends, nobody is ordinary. It is just how we explore our talents and consider - nothing is impossible. The power we seek outside lies within us.
To conclude, animated films with valuable life lessons are great learning tools and we must adopt to be the best version of ourselves. In what way, a panda Bear that knows martial arts –can be a great spokesperson to teach us some life lessons.
